Mule Team are based in Tokyo anYokosuka, formed by members of d/i/s/c/o/s and the Balladmen.

Since getting together, these boys have played actively in the Tokyo and Yokosuka areas in addition to helping out supporting overseas bands like Acid Baby Jesus and Nobunny, brought over by Slovenly Recordings and Blackhole respectively, when they toured Japan. invited by Blackhole. During their stint with Nobunny they released a self-produced 5-track cassette tape, the data of which sells for $1,000 on bandcamp (cheeky motherfuckers!)

Their sound is based on the roots music of Memphis and Nashville such as Ronnie Self (they cover Home In My Mind).
They also cite Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers in their Gram Parsons period, and the stellar British R&R band Brinsley Schwarz. Mule Team is a guitar ensemble rooted in american music and jaunty rhythm (bass and drums). They’re quite the rhythm and shakers, if ya catch my drift.

東京、横須賀を拠点に活動、d/i/s/c/o/sとex-Balladmenメンバーによって結成されたMule Team。

結成以来、都内・横須賀を中心に活動、Slovenly Recordingsが招聘したAcid Baby JesusやBlackhole招聘のNobunnyツアーに同行、そのNobunnyのツアー時には初音源として5曲入りカセットテープを自主リリースした。

アメリカ南部、メンフィスやナッシュビルのルーツミュージック、ライブでもカバーしているRonnie Selfなどを基本に70年代前半のCreedence Clearwater RevivalやGlam Persons期のThe Byrds～Flying Burrito Brothersさらにそれらに大きく影響を受けた英国産R&R、Brinsley Schwarzを彷彿とさせるアメリカンミュージックに根差したギターアンサンブルと軽快なリズムとメロディーが印象的で、最近は活動の幅も広がり様々なジャンルのバンドとの共演も多く、そんなライブに出演する中ようやく1stレコードが完成しました。(時間がかかってしまい申し訳ございません)

収録は前回自主リリースしたカセットテープ収録曲を含め全3曲収録、以前から知っている方もこれからレコード屋でライブハウスで知ることになる方も是非手に取ってみてください。

レコーディングとミックスはYour Pest Bandのフミトが、マスタリングは以前からお願いしたかったTotal ControlのMikey Youngにやってもらえることになりました。

デザインはレコードラベルはthe Young Pennsylvaniansの吉田さんが、スリーブ両面はrikoさん(helmetunderground&riko)が絵を描いてくれました。
